How to Fix a Colour Mismatch Between Video Shots

Establish a visual reference first

When shots do not match, begin by choosing the strongest reference shot for the scene. Exposure, white balance, skin tone and contrast all need to be assessed in context, not as isolated technical values.

Mixed cameras and changing light can often be brought closer together with careful correction. If a perfect match is not realistic, the edit may need a more considered transition or a different shot order so the contrast is less distracting.
